Meet Colleen

Hi, I’m Colleen, the maker behind Colleen’s Candles. I’m a mom to two daughters and a full-time systems engineer. For the past 19 years, I’ve enjoyed a career with a Fortune 500 company, and I’m grateful for the opportunities it continues to give me. Colleen’s Candles is my part‑time creative business, something I pour my heart into outside of my 9–5 workday. Outside of work, I’ve discovered a passion for creating beautiful candles.

My candle-making journey began last year with a simple drip candle. I loved watching layers of colorful wax flow down a bottle, each drip creating something unique. That curiosity inspired me to research how to make candles of my own, especially the decorative shapes I could create with molds.

I started from scratch, learning about waxes, wicks, fragrances, and colors through months of research and experimentation. There were plenty of imperfect pours along the way, but each one taught me something. When I finally created the smooth, beautifully finished candles I had imagined, I couldn’t wait to keep going.

With encouragement from friends and family, that hobby grew into Colleen’s Candles. Today, candle-making is a creative part of my life—a chance to explore color, shape, and scent while making little works of art for your home.

Each candle is made to order, with your choice of color and scent. Whether you choose yours as a decorative accent, a thoughtful gift, or a candle to light and enjoy, I hope it brings you as much joy as I find in creating it.
